The project will be developed around historical zones of confrontation. These historical battlefields will be transformed through gestures, in the form of site-specific public interventions, into spaces of coexistence and tolerance.
For this purpose we have established a dialogue with artists and art institutions from different partner places, generating a synergy by different interventions in a collaborative manner.
For each place a laboratory or round-table system have been developed, engaging community on questioning values, trauma and possible solutions for a better and inclusive life within the European context.
Each partner will then develop a ‘Manifest’ or action plan that will serve as inspiration for the implementation of a gesture/ work in public space.
Hopes, wishes and re-worked traumas will then be transformed by means of site-specific interventions in a range of public works to be presented in June 2018 in the city of Feldbach (AT). The pieces are resonating the issues and methodologies of all previous investigations in their respective home countries.
A catalogue documenting the entire project will be published by the autumn 2018.
